believe it or not many people on this forum watch european football and know a fair amount about leagues and players from outside the PL.
off the top of my head players like neuer, hummels, scweincunt, podolski, draxler, lahm,schurle, boateng, klose, kroos, meterseker, gotze were all in or arund their team at the time.
as for belgium players, as you may have noticed over the recent seasons a lot of good players seem to have come out of belgium. you can probably name more players than you think. courtois, witsel, lukaku, fellaini, hazard, alderweireld, vertongen, vermalen, origi, defour, chadli, mignolet, dembele, michy, benteke, naingollan. all very well known players.

Have Belgium really got such an amazing team or is it just because the majority of them are in the Premier League and we've heard of them that we think they are all so good?
I would expect allot of people couldn't name many German players past Ozil, Khedira and Muller when they won the World Cup.

PD, as well as the lopsided defence, their manager's been playing Felaini and Dembele as holding midfielders. those two love to get forward and Felaini can't tackle without picking up bookings so I think they'd be under a lot of pressure when they lose possession
